The curriculum of St. Paul’s Lutheran Early Childhood program reflects its philosophy and enhances growth and development of the young child, through the use of age appropriate materials and activities. Through these experiences each child is led to grow connections with God, family, teachers, children and others. The activities for the early years address the unique educational needs of these young children physically, emotionally, socially, academically and spiritually.
Our school day includes J-time, art, indoor and outdoor play, circle time (calendar/story), snack (including cooking own snack), small and large motor skills activities, music and movement, and a table activity. We will work throughout the year on cutting and writing skills, color, shape, number and letter recognition, utilizing Zoo phonics curriculum to integrate letter recognition and phonemic awareness towards word blending. We also focus on manners and social skills. We frequently work on building self-help skills and following three and four step directions.
